Special issue: Artificial Intelligence in Urology

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the science and engineering of building intelligent systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. The emergence of fast-growing AI-related techniques and technologies is revolutionizing different aspects of healthcare sector. Therefore, the practice of medicine is rapidly changing in all approaches of diagnosis, prognosis, treatment planing, and drug discovery. As the number of involved parameters and factors in medical decision-making processes is vast, conclusive decision making becomes a harder task that needs expertise, focus, and attention. Fortunately, the advent of AI-based tools attempts to compensate for the lack of focus and attention in vital decision-making procedures. As a result, AI serve medical community as augmented intelligence in diverse disciplines. Hence, urology as a broad major in medicine is utilizing AI-based tools for its different practices. To embrace the challenges and opportunities in design and validation of AI-based methods in urology, this special issue seeks submissions of scientific findings that present fundamental theory, techniques, and models of AI in the field of urology.
